Hello West Africa is led by Dr. Debra Kouda and Thomas D'Aquin Kouda, a binational founding team with deep roots in both Benin and the United States.
Thomas was born and raised in Benin. Debra first came to Benin in 2007 as a Peace Corps volunteer and has lived there ever since.
Together, we offer guided travel experiences that combine local knowledge, cultural understanding, and thoughtful preparation—helping visitors explore Benin with confidence and genuine human connection.

The Flagship 12-Day Immersive Tour
Small-group journeys through Benin's cities, villages, and cultural sites. Stay in our family home in rural Kabole, experience daily village life, and engage in meaningful conversations with the local community.
Led personally by co-founders Dr. Debra Kouda and Thomas D'Aquin Kouda, who are both Beninese American and bring deep cultural fluency, local relationships, and thoughtful preparation to every tour.
